A story about Scott Sistek
Scott’s evening weather commentaries make weather fun (even if you don’t like the forecast). It’s something that I can take for granted until I see another person write the commentary. For example, on Friday, Scott wrote:
”Saturday is, as we’ve teased all week long, still expected to be sunny and warm. Note we still aren’t going 70 for Seattle. Part is that I’m still chicken, but the other part is that I think there might be a few high clouds drifting about that might filter the sun just a skosh. Still, upper 60s is nothing to sneeze at (especially since I’m sure with all the pollen that will be around, you’ll have plenty to sneeze at already), and many spots along the Eastside and southern Washington will easily make it into the 70s.”
Indeed they did :)
As a comparison, consider the commentary offered by another person this evening. It’s far less interesting and earthy:
”After two days of sunnier, warmer weather, we’re headed back to cloudy skies and cooler temperatures.”
Scott’s playful weather arcana also stands out in the book he co-wrote with Steve Pool, Somewhere I Was Right
